Your Captains
U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captains-Capt. Kat and Capt. Bob:
Robert Bloecher-Bob hails from Northern Wisconsin and has been extensively exploring Lake Superior for the last 20 years-by kayak, fishing trawler and sailboat. Bob is primary captain of a Catalina Mark II, 42' sailboat which he took down the Mississippi River system and across the Gulf. She winters in the Bahamas, Florida Keys and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands where Bob and Kat enjoy hosting charter guests during the winter months.
Bob is an experienced fishing guide-always eager to drag a line, employ the down rigger and, hopefully, catch dinner. When not sailing or fishing the Big Lake you can find him trout fishing the streams and rivers throughout the Bayfield Peninsula.
Kathryn Jensen-Kat is from Northern MN-Grand Rapids and has been sailing for almost as long as she can remember. Kat loves restoring "classic" boats-and provides the elbow grease (and patience) for Manitou's spit and polish. She is also an ordained minister qualified to perform weddings on board Manitou or on land as needed.
Bob and Kathryn were married on board Manitou in August, 2006.
